As a last minute decision gone midnight on Friday night I decided to head up to Santa Pod for a DWYB day with some mates. Usually I head up to Pod with my s13 and about 12 tyres in the back, but this time I decided to go up riding shotgun in a mates car equipped with my camera to get some shots of the day's fun.

After leaving ridiculously early in the morning and getting only about 30 minutes sleep, we arrived with little issues apart from tiredness and starvation. The cars began to pour in & I watched everyone get ready with all the different tyres of cars in attendance.

Whilst the drivers briefing was on, this clean & lowered BMW E60 casually rocked up. On a static drop and being the owners daily, this really looked great.

Ryan in his "thrown together in 2 weeks" s13 headed out & got on alright on the smaller Kidney track. He came in a few times saying there were issues with it mis-firing, but after changing almost everything that we could, nothing seemed to solve it.

After about 45 minutes of shooting I was looking at the other photographers with high-viz jackets on and wondered if I could jump in & do the same thing. Sure enough that was fine, and it made for some scary awesome photos.

Slide Motorsport / Dodgem Squad were representing there as usual, putting on a good smoke show from both the R32 and the 350z. Still didn't see that much of the 350z, but I do remember from talking with the guys last time they had issues with it running right, I guess they hadn't fixed it entirely? Their R32 was putting on an awesome show as usual, however.

Ryan Doogan's battered "missile" s14 was holding out all the guns, as per usual, with Ryan's crazy-aggressive driving style and attempting to get as close to just about everything as possible. Perhaps a little too close when I went for a passenger ride with him which ended in going through a set of railings at about 50mph.

Rampstyle were in force as well, with a collection of s14's & s13's in an usually coloured cream & brown camo combination. I massively fell in love with this PS13 sporting huge fenders & kit with dishy wheels, and then fell in love with it a lot more as soon as I heard its LS1 V8 start up. Oh daymn.

Clive Littlechild, a regular up at Pod, was up seen up there as well in his s14 Kouki with his newly fitted GeoMaster suspension setup & a staggered set of Rota Grid's. Clive was pulling some serious speed & angle through the track which was awesome to watch, and his consistency was second to none.

A group of mates I know from down South were also there, Adam's well used s14a, Matt's slightly distorted s15, Ant's white s14a & Joe's super tidy s13, all putting on a great show & running hard. Was interesting to watch the different driving styles from all drivers throughout the day, and also fun to see improvements and changes in the same drivers too. Adam was really smoking it up toward the end of the day until he bent a toe-rod.

I run out of memory cards just after lunch so headed back to the pits to find this super-sexy Evo VII (I think?) parked up near our cars. I find they're friends of ours and he's more than happy to show me around the car, including the engine bay which was not only immaculately clean but also somewhat modified from standard!

There were countless other cars there as well, too many to mention all in 1 blog post. Head over to the forum here to see all the photos I took & check my Flickr for high-res downloadable photos too!

All in all a great day and a change for me since I'm usually the one behind the wheel no the camera. Hope you've enjoyed.
